My Fave Music x Spotify Playlists

If any of you aren’t on spotify, you should be. And you should especially check out my dope playlists. I have so many, so I can always find music to fit my mood. I will literally spend hours on end just discovering new songs and making them into playlists. It’s therapeutic for me! Not to mention, I’m slightly OCD so it gives me a reason to organize something.

First off, we have my most recent playlist titled “Trippy Hippy”. This playlist features songs entirely from the late 1960s, when psychedelia was at it’s prime and the weed flowed freely.

You can’t go wrong with The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Grateful Dead, and Cream.

Next we have “Current”. The name is pretty self explanatory since it includes songs that I’m currently into. Right now, I’ve been jamming out to a lot of Mac Miller, G-Eazy, and a bunch of lesser-known artists that are highly underrated.

In the spirit of the season I created a playlist titled “XMAS”. My all-time favorite christmas tunes are Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmas Time”, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” and Wham!’s “Last Christmas”.  A close runner up would be Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town”.  This playlist also includes the ever so popular Michael Bublé Christmas album and a lot of Frank Sinatra. An odd song out is Eminem’s “Headlights”, which I consider to have a Christmas theme so it kind of fit the vibe of the playlist.

My next playlist is “VIBIN’” which has sort of a Cali vibe. There’s a lot of beach-y upbeat songs with artists like Walk the Moon, Milky Chance, Aer, and Sammy Adams.

A weird but awesome playlist is “juicy”. It has a ton of early 2000’s shit like Fergie, Gwen Stefani, old Britney Spears back when she was good, and Destiny’s Child. It’s a good pump-up playlist and it’s great for jamming out to in the car with friends.

Next is “ivory”, which is exclusively piano. Some of the songs I can play, like “Nuvole Bianche” and “Comptine d’une autre été”, but most I just aspire to be able to play someday.

“Queen” is a playlist I created to commemorate the “queens” of music. It’s a group of songs sung entirely by women. Featured artists include Lana Del Rey, Shakira, and Lady Gaga.

“Raddd” is probably my favorite playlist of all time. It has some pretty fucking chill songs. It’s titled appropriately, because all of the songs have a unique sound which makes them pretty rad.   It features one of my favorite artists of all time, Mod Sun, plus more like Coasts, Radical Something, and Shwayze.

I made “OohKillEm” for my favorite rap songs. People are always super surprised when they find out I love rap, because apparently my appearance wouldn’t lead them to think that. Nevertheless, this playlist includes my all time favorite rapper Eminem, and some great artists like 2pac, A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Biggie, Juicy J, and Wiz Khalifa.

“HARD Rock” includes some awesome 70s, 80s, and 90s throwbacks. Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Led Zeppelin, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers make plenty of appearances.

Next is “That 90s/00s Life”, which is basically the soundtrack of my childhood. I get extremely nostalgic every time I listen to it. Coldplay, Sum 41, Green Day, The Killers, and Linkin Park are some kewl artists on there.

And finally, rounding out my playlists, is “Summer14”.  I made it last summer and spent many hours jamming out to it while driving in the car around town and tanning on my driveway (#redneckstatus #nograss). It’s surprising to see how much my music taste has changed in a year, however I still love and will always love some of the songs on that playlist.

Well there you have it, my 12 extensive and intricately meticulous playlists. Call me crazy, but I just have a huge passion for music and organizing 😉
Peace Out

I just love a good sunset. The mix of colors, pink blue and red, is just magical. Here’s some of my favorites.

Uncompahgre SunsetHere’s one in the Colorado Rockies. I love how the light shines off the pine trees.

This one’s in Mexico. I’ve never been there, but I’d love to sit on the beach enjoying an amazing sunset while sipping on a nice cold Corona. The palm trees just make it look so much cooler.

Here’s one in the Arizona desert. I love the mix of colors.

Michigan will always hold a special place in my heart, and from experience I can tell you that you just can’t beat the sun setting over the bay overlooking the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

This sunset in Alaska kind of reminds me of when I go skiing and view the sunset from the top of the mountain. Although, Alaska is a small step up from that. But nonetheless, this is still a great sunset.

Things I Want

I’m starting a new series in my blog, called “Things  I Want”.  Now, most of these items are definitely not in my price range, and a lot of them are just dream or wish list things. But nevertheless, these are the things that I’m obsessing and lusting over at the moment. no bad tripsFirst up is this muscle tank from Pacsun that says “No Bad Trips”.   I love the subtle reference without it being in your face. Even though it’s from the men’s section, I feel like it would be totally rad for girls too. I would pair this with ripped up denim shorts and my white vans sk8-hiis.

Next up is this cool monokini from Forever 21. I usually just wear bikinis, but this one piece isn’t just a standard one piece. I like the cutouts on the side and the colorful print. My wardrobe is basically all black, white, and neutral colors, so the only time I wear color is at the beach or pool when I wear swim suits. This would be a great addition to my collection.

black pants good   My final pick is a semi-random pick, but these black dress pants from Kohl’s would be so great for church, going out to dinner, basically any formal occasion. After I saw the movie “The Other Woman”, I was obsessed with Cameron Diaz’s outfit during one of the office scenes. She looked so chic and put together, so I’m going to try and recreate this outfit using these pants.

Here’s the links to all of the things I want. They’ll always be at the bottom in these types of posts.

Coolest Album Covers

I just love the look of vintage album covers.  Yeah, there are some cool modern album covers too, but you have to admit that these are fucking rad.  So here’s my top five vintage picks in no particular order:

Cream’s second album, Disraeli Gears, is for sure my favorite album cover of all time. I love how busy and psychedelic the pattern is.  It also features their faces and name without these things overpowering the cover. I also love how even though the dominant color is pink,  the album still looks badass.

Another favorite is Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.   The orange and blue really pop in this one, and the pool scene is really neat.

odessy and oracle by the zombies

Next is another psychedelic design, Odessey and Oracle by The Zombies. I love the flowers and the characters; it looks like something out of Alice In Wonderland with that LSD/trippy feel.

Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti is so urban and grunge. It’s effortlessly cool.

My final choice is Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. The flowers and palm trees give it a tropical feel, and it’s nice how John, Paul, George, and Ringo stand out from all the other people with their crazy costumes.

So there you have it, my top five vintage album covers of all time.  Stay tuned for a post on the coolest modern album covers.

About A Girl

So here’s my blog, where I’ll be posting daily about random shit made up of my life, thoughts, and inspiration. I consider myself somewhat of a flower child, rock out to classic 70s music and old school rap, watch south park, and root for the blackhawks.  My blog is a culmination of all these things and more. So…

Enjoy ~
